Gorgeous Winter Wedding in the Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg | Joe + Kristin

Christopher Place Wedding

Congratulations to this beautiful couple! These two said ‘I Do’ and ‘Merry Christmas’ the week before the Christmas holiday with a combination winter wedding and Christmas party. How fun, and definitely, a merry way to ring in the season! Sullivan Photography who shot the wedding was kind enough to share these amazing photos with us.

Even though the weather was unseasonably warm, the couple chose to have their winter wedding inside with Christopher Place’s beautiful Christmas decorations. Absolutely one of the best things about winter weddings is the decorations that are already in place for the winter holiday season. And because of the gorgeous weather, they still got to take some amazing photos with the Smokies as their backdrop.

For their rehearsal dinner, this fun couple chose to do a combination BBQ and Ugly Christmas Sweater party. Not only did these two nail the Christmas spirit, they definitely knew how to throw a party that was fun for everyone.

We just love when our couples take their own personal style and add it to their beautiful wedding near Gatlinburg. This couple had a close and longtime friend perform the ceremony. And in place of the wedding cake they had Christmas cookies, made by the bride’s mother.

This beautiful couple and their guests had the entire inn to themselves for this amazing and one-of-a-kind wedding. We loved working with them. They were so easy to work with and really knew how they wanted to make their unique mark on their Smoky Mountain wedding.

Here’s what they had to say about their wedding on TripAdvisor.

My husband and I took a leap of faith and booked a December wedding at Christopher Place. I use the expression “leap of faith” because although we had enjoyed a brief one-night stay at the Inn, we didn’t know a lot about CP before we booked the entire Inn for a weekend wedding. I’m so glad we did it, because our wedding could not have been more perfect. We knew we wanted to rent a B&B or an Inn in the mountains that was accessible to our invitees. A couple of our guests flew into Knoxville, but most drove in from Georgia and Indiana.

CP was the perfect size and style to accommodate everyone’s taste. We were thrilled to be able to host our family in the Inn’s luxurious and spacious rooms. I don’t think anyone used room keys the entire weekend. We felt like CP was our home because we had the entire Inn to ourselves for two days. The most popular season to visit Tennessee might be fall, but even in December we were able to enjoy a 50 degree cloudless day. We opted for an indoor ceremony, but most of our wedding pictures were taken outside with gorgeous mountain views.

Marsten, Debbie, Rusty and Nina could not have been more accommodating. We had a few last minute changes, and I forgot we had a vegetarian among us. Marsten and Debbie were flexible and gracious. Everyone at CP bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Chef Valentine prepared several amazing meals for us. We had a rehearsal-style dinner on Friday with pulled pork and southern sides. It was served very elegantly, and the setting was perfect for families on both sides to get to know one another more before the Saturday wedding. Saturday’s ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. Debbie was a tremendous help with coordinating our vendors, including the florist, a string trio, and photographer. The reception dinner was unforgettable. All of the steak entries were plated and served at once. That’s rare for a party of 20 or more. We had a champagne toast and open bar and no one’s glass went empty. Our families enjoyed getting to know more about the Inn and talking to Marsten and Debbie.

We found CP mugs stashed in our car before we left on Sunday. Our parents wanted to make sure we had souvenirs from the Inn. I have so many great memories from our time at CP. The Inn is romantic, but it was so much more to us. It was both elegant and comfortable and a perfect setting for us to celebrate with our closest family and friends.

Every one of our guests loved his/her experience.

Weddings at Christopher Place are one of our absolute favorite things! We love working with couples to get the celebration that they had in mind and to send them off into married life with the gift of a lovely and stress-free wedding.

We are pleased to offer Smoky Mountain wedding packages that fit many budgets. But there is nothing cookie-cutter about our services. It is our joy and privilege to give each couple the wedding of their dreams.
