Mountain View Restaurant at Christopher Place

With an elegant dining room adorned with a cozy fireplace, a crystal chandelier and white linen and candlelight on the tables, our onsite restaurant turns dinner into a true special occasion. The name Mountain View isn’t just for show, either. As you dine, you’ll gaze out over the beautiful property surrounding the inn and the Smoky Mountains off in the distance. Be sure to bring your appetite, because chef Karen Valentine creates a memorable four-course fine dining experience that changes on a daily basis, made with fresh locally sourced ingredients.  Recent entrees have included steamed salmon with champagne butter sauce, grilled duck breast, and filet mignon with smoked ham hock red wine sauce.

An extensive offering of wines and cocktails are available to enhance your meal, which is served from Tuesday to Saturday, $40 per person ($50 per person for the steak or specialty selection dinners). Be sure to make your reservation to ensure your place during your stay. Before dinner, treat yourself to a drink at Marston’s Library Pub.

Angelo’s at the Point

In nearby Dandridge, Angelo’s likely has the most picturesque lake view of any restaurant in the area. Its location on an island in Douglas Lake and near Interstate 40 makes it an easy drive from anywhere. While boats and jet-skis skim across the water, you can enjoy a wide-ranging menu that includes brick-oven pizzas (the most popular item), grilled burgers, seafood appetizers, homemade soups, salads and hearty entrees. If the weather is cooperating, be sure to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings.

Angelo’s has a pleasantly sophisticated offering of fine wines, both on draft and bottled craft beers and other spirits. A reasonable priced brunch is served on Sundays between 11 AM and 3 PM, serving biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, fried chicken and biscuits, steak and eggs and Angelo’s special omelet, with plenty of sides. The restaurant is open every day, 3 PM to 11 PM on Mondays, 11 AM to 11 PM Tuesday through Sunday.

Buckberry Lodge

This is the quintessential romantic restaurant in Gatlinburg with, as its own website states, “fine dining with a feast for the eyes.” Resembling a rustic mountain retreat, the Buckberry Lodge sits on a hill that overlooks Mount LeConte and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the dining room thrills its guests with unforgettable mountain and forest views that stretch off into the horizon.

Serving both breakfast and dinner with menus that change daily, Buckberry creates meals influenced by the seasons. A current offering includes pan-seared beef tenderloin or duck breast, rare coffee crusted tuna and sautéed sea bass, each with creative side dishes. The dinner menu changes in the winter to fixed five-course meal, and there is also a five-course chef’s tasting selection each night. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday in January to May, Monday to Saturday in June to September, seven days a week in October and Monday to Saturday in November and December. Reservations are recommended.
