Happily for those who fish, fishing is a year round activity here in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Even during the winter, temperatures don’t stay low long enough to necessitate ice fishing. Fly fishing along the many rivers and streams running through the Smokies is the stuff of dreams. If hours spent hearing nothing but the rush of water sounds like your ideal weekend getaway, then look no further. Our Smoky Mountain Inn specializes in romance – even when that romance is between man and fish.
There are several good fishing holes not far from our Tennessee bed and breakfast. Douglas Lake is the place for large mouth bass while the French Broad River is best know for small mouth. Paint Creek is a good spot for fly fishing, while Paint Creek Pond is a good spot for warm water fishing. Enjoy gazing at the last of the autumn foliage as you commune with nature and fish.
After a day with rod in hand, you’ll be ready for an evening in Marston’s Library Pub, at our Smoky Mountain inn. A warm atmosphere and satisfying pub fare like Bangers & Mash or Fish & Chips will relax you like nothing else, especially when washed down with a pint. There is no need to drive to town to enjoy fine food – you can find it all here.
