The Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre in Gatlinburg is one of a kind. For over 30 years, it has been creating two original performances a year in the spirit of 1890s music halls. Recently, the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre was proclaimed a National Historic Treasure of the city of Gatlinburg. The next time you visit our romantic Gatlingburg bed and breakfast, plan to spend a night at this unusual theatre. You are unlikely to see anything quite like it ever again, and laughter is, after all, a wonderful thing.
Definitely Not a Country Music Show
Now through November 20, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is alternating two fun shows. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights, watch Not Quite a Fairy Tale, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, watch Don’t Worry… It’s Nothing Serious (A Mad-Cap Magical Review). Expect a lot of silliness.
Once the laughter subsides, return to our peaceful Smoky Mountains bed and breakfast and stop by our pub for a nightcap before heading up to bed. In the morning, sleep in and then enjoy breakfast in your room. Discuss the day’s plans over a steaming cup of coffee – tennis? a hike through the inn’s lovely 200 acres? a dip in the pool? Or will you head off to explore the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park?

Easter is a lovely time to stay at our Great Smoky Mountains bed and breakfast. If you are looking for a romantic retreat, with a quiet place to sleep late and a delicious breakfast, you’ll find it here.
An example of the unique art found in and around Gatlinburg
There will be a great Easter Arts and Crafts Show in Gatlinburg from March 31 – April 3, 2010. A good number of local artists and craftsman will be at the Convention Center in downtown Gatlinburg with their creations. This is a fantastic opportunity to see how they produce their art, and to speak with them about what they do. (more…)

Many folks come to our East Tennessee lodging because of its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We are located about ten miles from Cosby – the least crowded entrance to the park – which makes us a good choice for folks who are seeking solitude in the Smokies.
Spectacular Views while on the road in Eastern Tennessee
Yet our Smoky Mountain inn is also located near a number of small towns that are just as worthy of exploration as the park – especially at this time of year, when shopping is a priority. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are pretty well known for their interesting shops and arts and crafts, and they are certainly good places to visit during the holidays. Yet Sevierville, Morristown and Cosby are also worth exploring.
Cosby may not have many shops, but there is a good chance you will find something unique if you look there. Look for incredible quilts and knives, and hand-crafted musical instruments. Chocolate lovers will not want to miss the treats at the Candy Outlet. Historic downtown Sevierville is home to several interesting boutique shops that feature local arts and crafts. Like Pigeon Forge, it is also close to some great outlet shops.
Morristown is a good place to start looking for antiques. Fine European and early American pieces can be found, along with a variety of collectibles and curios. If you are patient and not pressed for time, The Great Smokies Flea Market, north of Sevierville, houses over 1,000 vendors.
Shopping can be fun, but it is also exhausting. Knowing you’ll spend the night in a comfortable room at our East Tennessee inn can help get you through. After a day of hustle and bustle, you’ll look forward to our tranquil setting on over two hundred acres. Make a reservation for dinner in our elegant formal dining room, or plan for a more casual dinner in the pub. There is no need to get back in your car once you make it here. Just relax, and treat yourself for a change.

Not far from our Smoky Mountains Resort is the charming town of Gatlinburg TN. Pressed up against the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, driving into the town feels like you are driving to a hidden place, known to only a few.
Gatlinburg starting to dress for the holidays
In fact, more and more people are visiting Gatlinburg when they come to the Smoky Mountains. As a result, Gatlinburg has more and more to offer visitors: excellent restaurants, fantastic music, and interesting shops.
Take some time to visit Gatlinburg while staying at our nearby Smoky Mountains bed and breakfast. The town is all lit up for the holidays, as you can easily see when you hop aboard the Trolley Ride of Lights. Part of the larger Gatlinburg Winter Magic festival, the Trolley of Lights runs nightly at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 (with the exception of December 4, 24, 25, and 31), and continues Saturday nights in January. Reservations required (865-436-0535).
Have an early gourmet dinner in our Mountain View Dining Room before heading into town for the light show. Upon your return to the inn, you will welcome a nightcap in your room or by the fire in the pub. Sleep in the next morning, waking at last to stunning views of the Smoky Mountains, which you can enjoy during your delicious breakfast.

Let a good meal dispel your fears.
October seems an appropriate time to spice things up with a little spookiness. Our romantic Tennessee inn is close to Gatlinburg, where you can experience a unique Ghost Walk. “Ghostwalk of Gatlinburg” is an evening walking tour and storytelling event that leads participants to some of the most historic spots in the town. Expect to feel the hair rise on the back of your neck as you are lead by lantern down winding streets. You will walk for about an hour, cover about a mile, and hear local legends, folk tales, and fiction. This is a great way to learn about some forgotten aspects of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Once you’ve finished the tour, head back to our Smoky Mountains inn and restore yourself with a stiff drink (or cup of tea) in our pub. Then huddle and cuddle together in your room, and look forward to the morning, when you can enjoy a tasty breakfast in the light of day.
