Since winter weather appears set on sticking around for a while longer, why not combine a Smoky Mountains romantic getaway with the last ski trip of the season.

One of the most spectacular places to cross-country ski in Tennessee is the road to Clingman’s Dome. Beautiful all year round, it is otherworldly when blanketed with snow. The road is closed to traffic until April 1, 2010 – until then, the road is yours. (more…)

A Peaceful Holiday in Smoky Mountains

Monday, December 14th, 2009

If you are looking for a peaceful place to spend the holidays this year, head to our Smoky Mountains resort. Once here, you don’t ever need to leave. We’ll pamper you with elegant four-course dinners in our formal restaurant, or fill you with hearty fare in our cozy pub. We’ll bring breakfast to your room, so you can awaken slowly while sipping hot coffee and enjoying the views.

While you’re here, wander around our 200 acres of secluded land adjacent to the National Park, or head into the park itself. Crowds are thin at this time of year, so there is a good chance you’ll have some spectacular places all to yourself, like the historic church in Cades Cove pictured here.

It can be difficult to sneak away during the month of December, but it can also be extremely rewarding. Show your sweetheart how committed you are by whisking him/her away for a romantic weekend. Forgo crowded New Year’s Eve parties at home and welcome 2010 together, here at our Gatlinburg b&b. It’s the perfect way to end one year, and the best way to start another.

Smoky Mountains Resort Gift Certificates

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

It can be hard to find the perfect gift for some people. You want to give them something meaningful and unique – something they’ll really appreciate. But what?

Gatlinburg Bypass

The Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg

How about a gift certificate to our Smoky Mountains Resort? You have to admit, it’s a unique idea. It is certainly something they will appreciate. Our gift certificates are valid for three years – from January 5, 2010 to January 5, 2013 – which allows ample time for folks to fit a Tennessee getaway into their schedules. When they are relaxing on the balcony overlooking the Smokies or enjoying a drink in the pub, they’ll be so thankful that you thought to send them here.

The truth is, lots of people just don’t think to treat themselves to a holiday. I’m sure you know people like this. So this year, help those people remember to take time for themselves; give them a gift certificate to our bed and breakfast Smoky Mountains.

As a special holiday treat for you, we’ll give you a gift: purchase a gift certificate before December 18, 2009 and we’ll add 25% to the value.

Thanksgiving Overlooking the Smokies

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

What about doing something a little out-of-the-ordinary this year for Thanksgiving? Have you ever considered taking a few days off before Thanksgiving? Pretty unconventional, I know.

Private Dining

Fill our dining room with your friends and family this Thanksgiving

The days prior to Thanksgiving are supposed to be filled with last minute menu-alterations, frantic cleaning of the house, and endless waits in supermarket lines. Relaxing is not supposed to start until the turkey has been consumed and the Tryptophan hits the system. But what if you said “No” to all that this year and convinced family or a few friends to do the same?

You could head to a tranquil Smoky Mountains Resort and spend the few days before Thanksgiving working up an appetite by walking in the mountains? Instead of standing in interminable lines at the market, how about a nice long game of billiards in the inn’s pub? Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

A full, delicious Thanksgiving dinner will be prepared for you at the inn. Imagine delving into moist, salted roast turkey breast flavored with an orange, fall spices and sherry gravy; think how good the Cornbread Stuffing Muffins with Ham and Sage will taste; worry whether or not you’ll have room for a fat slice of Chocolate Espresso Pecan Pie.

Now these are the only thoughts that should be filling your mind before Thanksgiving.
