What about doing something a little out-of-the-ordinary this year for Thanksgiving? Have you ever considered taking a few days off before Thanksgiving? Pretty unconventional, I know.

Fill our dining room with your friends and family this Thanksgiving
The days prior to Thanksgiving are supposed to be filled with last minute menu-alterations, frantic cleaning of the house, and endless waits in supermarket lines. Relaxing is not supposed to start until the turkey has been consumed and the Tryptophan hits the system. But what if you said “No” to all that this year and convinced family or a few friends to do the same?
You could head to a tranquil Smoky Mountains Resort and spend the few days before Thanksgiving working up an appetite by walking in the mountains? Instead of standing in interminable lines at the market, how about a nice long game of billiards in the inn’s pub? Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
A full, delicious Thanksgiving dinner will be prepared for you at the inn. Imagine delving into moist, salted roast turkey breast flavored with an orange, fall spices and sherry gravy; think how good the Cornbread Stuffing Muffins with Ham and Sage will taste; worry whether or not you’ll have room for a fat slice of Chocolate Espresso Pecan Pie.
Now these are the only thoughts that should be filling your mind before Thanksgiving.
