Perhaps you’ve been planning to “pop the question” for a while. You’ve wanted to plan something special, to help create a memorable experience for this momentous occasion. How about a few nights together at our Smoky Mountain lodging?
This wedding cake could be yours...
Valentine’s Day is not far off; if you or your sweetie is a romantic at heart, this may well be the perfect time for a marriage proposal. Will it take place as you cuddle together in your room, watching the mist rise off the Smoky Mountains? Will it happen as you share a gourmet four-course meal in our formal dining room? Or will you ask during a peaceful walk together on our 200 private acres?
Our Smoky Mountain resort is ideal for weddings, too. Why not come full circle, and plan your wedding for the very place she said yes? Then remember the event each year with an anniversary trip to the inn. So much transition and change happens over the course of a life together – why not start a wonderful tradition now?
Be sure to check into our romance specials; they may give you just the incentive you need!

Christmas and Hanukkah have come and gone. The New Year’s Celebrations are over. You’ve said goodbye to extended family and old friends and you’re back to a normal work schedule again. Spring seems a long, long way away.
In short, you want to be able to look forward to something. It doesn’t have to be this week, or even this month, but you want to know that at some point in the not-too distant future, it will happen.
Why not plan a romantic winter getaway at our Smoky Mountains resort? We are just outside of Gatlinburg, but we seem a world away. Rolling hills and mountains surround the inn, and our 200 acres ensure a peaceful setting.
Leave work early one Friday and drive up to our Gatlinburg area inn. We’ll wine and dine you by candelight, let you sleep in the next morning, and bring breakfast to your room if you wish. You may spend the day relaxing at the inn, strolling miles of trails on-site, or heading out to the Smoky Mountains. Schedule a massage for one or both of you. Enjoy a casual meal at the pub, followed by a game of billiards.
What you do isn’t important, so long as you are together.
Our Winter Getaway Special for two nights runs through March 31, 2010. Put it on the calendar now, so you’ll have something to anticipate.

 This could be you.
September in the Smoky Mountains is idyllic. Summer crowds have headed back to school and work, and the heat has somewhat abated. The early morning mists that rise and cling to the mountaintops are beautiful at this time of year, and remind us of how the Smokies got their name. October follows with blazing fall foliage that turns the mountains into the color of sunset. The views from our Gatlinburg TN lodging are spectacular.
Come stay with us this fall for a romantic weekend retreat. We created our east Tennessee bed and breakfast with romance in mind, paying particular detail to the moods created by our public spaces. The intimacy of our formal dining room encourages closeness, and the fine dining culinary creations are delicious and deeply satisfying. We offer a romantic getaway package that includes three nights lodging, breakfast at your leisure, and one gourmet candlelit four-course dinner for two. We also offer honeymoon and anniversary packages that include four nights lodging and romantic four-course dinners on two nights. There are excellent restaurants close by in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and of course, our pub is a less formal but equally intimate place to dine. It is no wonder that more than one proposal has occurred here.
Autumn is a lovely time for romance and weddings in eastern Tennessee. The two hundred acres that surround our Smoky Mountain Inn include wide, open lawns perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. The lawns are surrounded by rolling wooded land, with many shades of green in the spring and summer, and vivid reds, oranges, and yellows in autumn. Indoor weddings and receptions take place in large rooms with many windows to the view, along with covered decks and balconies. Perhaps a proposal this fall will be followed by a wedding next fall?

Romance awaits at our Smoky Mountain Lodging
Recently we were thrilled to learn that our Smoky Mountain resort is one of 14 inns to receive the “Travelers Choice for Romance” award from American Historic Inns and iLoveInns.com. We have you, our guests, to thank for this award. This award was not based on the opinions of our staff or the travel writers of Historic Inns and iLoveInns.com; rather, Historic Inns and iLoveInns.com tallied the reviews of our guests. This is an extremely affirming award, since we set out to create a Tennessee romantic resort in what we consider to be one of the most romantic spots in the country, the Smoky Mountains.
If you haven’t yet visited us, we hope you will plan a Tennessee Romantic Weekend here. Why not make it a surprise for your sweetheart? Once you arrive at our 200 private acres, nestled in the Smoky Mountains, you won’t want – or need – to leave. For meals you have a choice of formal, fine dining in our Mountain View Dining Room (think candle light and piano music), or more casual dining in Marston’s Library Pub. In either venue, the food is outstanding.
Perhaps you will consider hosting your Smoky Mountain Wedding here. At the very least, this is a wonderful place to pop the question.
