Consider an evening at the theatre the next time you are enjoying a romantic getaway at our Smoky Mountains B&B. The Morristown Theatre Guild, that is, one of the oldest community theaters in the state.
The Theatre Guild is just 45 minutes due north from our Smoky Mountains resort. If you have never been to this little theater, you may well be surprised and delighted by the caliber of work it presents.
The theatre celebrated its 75th anniversary last season with a grand gala, and is now moving ahead with an exciting line-up for its 2010 season.
Up first is “I Hate Hamlet”, written by Paul Rudnick. The play has been a favorite of small theaters since it first appeared on Broadway in 1991. It follows a young actor faced with a decision: should he pursue commercial success with mediocre t.v. roles, or take on less lucrative but more challenging Shakespearean roles?
“I Hate Hamlet” may inspire reflection in its audience, but it will also entertain.
The Morristown Theatre Guild will present “I Hate Hamlet” it February and March, making now the right time to plan your next romantic getaway. It’s the perfect addition to long, drawn our dinners and lazy mornings.
