Platinum National Dance Competition – June 28th through July 2nd, Sevierville
The vitality of “Dancing with the Stars” comes to the Great Smokies with this thrilling national level competition. But you won’t just see great ballroom dancing – competitors will also display their top tap, jazz and ballet skills. Whether you’re an amateur dancer or if you simply appreciate dance as a spectator, you’ll enjoy watching this showcase of grace and beauty.
Back Porch Old Time Jam Music – June 6th and June 20th, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Have you always wanted to perform your music in front of enthusiastic crowds? Then join up with other musicians of all abilities for some old-fashioned fun at this live year-round event at the National Park. It takes place at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center Porch from 1 to 3 PM. If you’re not musically inclined, you can still listen to this lively jam session of Appalachian music.
Pontiacs at Pigeon Forge – June 3rd and 4th, Pigeon Forge
Calling all car enthusiasts…You’ll love seeing these classic Detroit beauties such as the GTO and Bonneville on display at this show, one of the most anticipated Pigeon Forge events each year. If you preregister for entry, you’ll get access to the Friday night cookout and a river cruise on Saturday night. Interested in trading your own model? It’s also a car swap meet, so be sure to bring your bargaining skills.
June Jubilee – June 20th, Dandridge
Returning after several years’ absence, this energetic celebration of music, food and arts brings the community together for a day-long event of endless fun. Located in the lakeside town of Dandridge, the Jubilee will offer live music from acts including the Lost Creek Band and Hillbilly Bonez, dozens of unique craft and art vendors and lots of tempting foods and treats.
Art and Wine Exhibit, Townsend Artisan Guild – June 6th, Townsend
Browse fine handiwork from local artists, then taste locally sourced and produced wine from Cades Cove Cellars at this summertime festival on the quiet side of the Great Smokies. The art offerings include photography, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, woodworking and stained glass.
